#1969 how to relax?

Friday 27th May, 2011

Dear Mariann,
We met at Thinking Digital after your panel discussion, you mentioned that there were some Disconnected chaps who were happier without technology. How do I get to live this selective lifestyle? Would you recommend a Facebook shut down?
With thanks from the sharp smart in azure socks.

Look, it’s not about being on or off. It’s about making connections that matter. That’s why, sorry how, Facebook sucks you in. Do understand the following; you can assert astonishingly confident body language just as we met face to face. This is unlikely to occur via Facebook. So make things less obviously intense and wind down the disconnected agenda.

Would I recommend a ‘shut down’. I may do, azure socks, I may do.  Personally I think what you want to promote is how to have a lark and not really give a damn.

Why be so tense, uncomfortable and dare I add unfulfilled? Everyone’s going to look at you and pass judgeship at some time.  Just as you do on them. This was the plan right from the first day you signed up for Facebook.

At this point in time you’re the only one who really cares whether you’re connected or disconnected.

A position that’s vacuous and a momentarily social discordant. A position that betrays uptight and irrelevant navel gazing.

Just like this blog really. So I’d stay connected, if only to enjoy the serendipitous.
