Dear Mariann,

This time of year I receive too many round robin season greetings.  Such as the following:

Dear Friends and Colleagues,

Please accept my sincere wishes for a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.
May the holidays be joyful into and resplendent for you, your families and loved ones.

I hate these. What would be my best reply?

From Robin Redbreast and Terrance the Turkey.

Reply simply thus;

Lovely to hear from you my dear friend and/or colleague (please delete as appropriate)

I look forward to presents that you, your family and loved ones will send to me.

You already have my email and my home address is xxx-xxx.

You will either cause high offense (and then never hear from them again); or receive unexpected gifts.

Merry Christmas you lovely s*ds.

Today’s post is bought to you by the word ‘festive’, cos it is.

adjective: festive
relating to a festival, especially Christmas.
“the festive season is fast approaching”
